Prasad Raghavan’s posters for a film club in his native place were more than just visual aids; they were a medium for him to create a parallel dialogue with aspired histories and political visions, which proved to be his leaping plank into art. His recent series of ten photo collages, inspired by Krzysztof Kielowski’s movie series ‘The Decalogue’, explore the insatiable and directionless conquest of man to attain glory. Prasad employs religious allegory as a secular process of sociological inquiry into man’s greed and ultimately annihilistic relationship with nature. His works carry a powerful philosophical message that inspires introspection about one’s place in the world.
