Khadeeja Zayan is an interdisciplinary artist and architect from Thamarassery, Calicut, who earned her architecture degree from the Avani Institute of Design and completed her postgraduate studies at the Royal College of Art, London, in 2023. Now a creative strategist in Dubai, she explores the intersection of architecture and art, emphasizing material experimentation, space visualization, and environmental sustainability. In her photographic series, “Testaments of Land Negotiations – From soil we came, to soil we return, and in between, we breathe,” Khadeeja captures the evolving landscapes of the United Arab Emirates, reflecting the interactions between various stakeholders. Each photograph narrates stories of transformation and resilience, highlighting the deep connections between humanity and nature while urging us to honor and preserve our collective heritage.
