Madhu Venugopalan (b. 1976, Kochi, Kerala) completed his BFA from the College of Fine Arts, Thiruvananthapuram (1998) and MFA from RLV College of Fine Arts, Thripunithura (2001). His practice explores socio-ecological concerns through layered, symbolic imagery, often using the tree as a metaphor. Rooted in the idea of homeostasis as a state of equilibrium, his works reflect on climate change, political crises, and a post-human future. He has exhibited widely and received awards including the Pollock Krasner Foundation Grant. He lives and works in Malayattoor.
